Alex and Josh’s Cattle Barn wedding in Cle Elum
Alex and Josh hired me on well before COVID was a thing. We went to their venue, The Cattle Barn, to do a walk through late in the summer of 2019 to do our walkthrough. Originally planning for around 160 guests, they were going to have a modern, country bash like no other.
Unfortunately, planning their wedding was not without issue. They found out that their originally booked DJ had gone mia and had a recent reputation of not showing up to weddings. Luckily, Adam with Adam’s DJ Services was able to come in and save the day and provided amazing emcee and DJ services for their wedding day.
When COVID hit, we anxiously watched everything play out in the state. Luckily, receptions had opened up earlier in the summer, which made all of us hopeful that they could have the wedding they wanted at their venue. Cle Elum is in Kittitas County, which was moved to Phase 3, which allowed for a higher venue capacity. Unfortunately, about a week before their wedding, the Governor announced that receptions would not be allowed as of the Friday before their wedding date. So, we scrambled to figure out what to do. Guest lists were cut, vendors were canceled, it was a frantic situation to try to salvage their wedding day.
Luckily, the Governor then decided to postpone the reception cancelations until after that weekend (maybe because it was the busiest wedding weekend of the year? Not sure…) So, we went back into planning mode and to help ease the stress out of the couple, I contacted all of the vendors again to get them signed back up to continue the wedding as previously planned. I can now say I’ve re-planned a wedding within a day!
The day was beautiful: Sunny, warm weather, lots of wind, and lots of love flowing around. Their little boy was a trooper throughout the entire day and looked like a mini groomsman with his cowboy boots and grey suit. Erin Perkins captured everything perfectly and was, of course, a joy to work with.
Enjoy the photos of their rustic, modern wedding with a country twist!
