A moody and elegant winter shoot

When I was approached by Aja at BBJ Linen to do a winter styled shoot and get photos back in a month, I was a little skeptical if I could pull it off.

After gathering some of my favorite vendors, I was then able to solidify the mood board we wanted to work with. Unfortunately, the board we wanted was already chosen. So, we decided to go for it and do a dark and moody shoot using black, burgundy, deep plum and other fun dark jewel tones.

Here is the mood board our inspiration came from:

The tone was perfect for the venue, The Press Room in Tacoma, which is an old newspaper press that the owners have turned into a gorgeous event venue.

We hired on a fantastic model, Michelle, who was amazing and was able to be transformed from having her hair down, to up and from nude lips to dark, berry lips, all thanks to Ryann Brady, who came by way of Pacific Brides, one of my favorite traveling hair and makeup artists.

Bringing in Karrie Michelle Floral Design and Erin Perkins Photography helped shape the overall feel of the shoot along with lots and lots of candles!

I’m so incredibly proud of this tablescape and dessert table that show that you can have a gorgeous event that uses darker colors. Using this combination of table decor, you can use this for a winter wedding, holiday table, or a New Years Eve bash.

Enjoy!
